Get ready for this one....

Carl and the Passions did change their name....to the Pendletones. The Pendletones then recorded their first 45 ("Surfin'"), and literally when they unpacked the first box of records they found that the record company (Candix) had changed their name to The Beach Boys without their knowledge.

If you look at the (surviving) ones today, the should be called The Beach Men or maybe The Beach Geezers. :jester:

Quote:]Wonder too what the young Mick Jager would have thought of himself now?[/QUOTE]
The Stones began their career emulating Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Willie Dixon, etc. All those guys were in their late 50s and 60s before the Stones ever made it big, and all were doing the best work of their lives at the time.

Keith Richards tells a story of their first visit to the Chess studios in Chicago for a recording gig, and meeting Muddy Waters for the first time. Muddy was covered in paint. Leonard Chess had hired Muddy for the week to paint the studio. He made an extra $50.00 that week as a painter.

I think Mick Jagger should be very proud of the progress he made, and the progress he made possible for other artists, artistic and otherwise.
