Music played on the phone while you are on hold.

I may have posted this some time ago.

I am always amazed that in the age of digital everything so many companies still seem to use that old worn out tape machine for their music on hold. Or did they make a digital copy of it for the nostalgia factor?

I know what you mean! When I call Apple Support I'm asked if I would like to listen to Jazz, Classical, Pop/Rock or just wait in silence while on hold. Usually I just choose to wait in silence because the quality of music is horrible (even when I'm calling though my computer with very good speakers).

I'd like a "wait in silence" option on calls where we get put on "ignore".

Puts me in mind of "Muzak" - who here remembers that?

What amazes me is music that was controversial and edgy (and metal) in those days is tame and elevator music in these days.

It is not the songs that get me it is the car tape player tape that has gone through the machine too many times and is getting stretched causing distortions.
At least it is not a record with the Click Click every revolution.
