My dad bought his 1960 BT7 in 1976, and unfortunately he is no longer mobile enough to get in and out of her. My sister used to drive the car in high-school, and named her Muffy. She had hopes of inheriting her someday, but since Dad and I shared the love of British sportscars as a father-son bonding experience back in the '70s, he decided I should have the Healey. It took me a couple of months to turn my bonus room back into the garage it used to be, but eventually it was ready for Muffy. I drove up to Dad's place this past weekend and bought her from him for $10.
She's mostly original condition, with 88,270 miles on her. Dad had her repainted a few years back, but other than that she's only had maintenance and upkeep. I'll probably replace the non-standard steering wheel with a wood-rimmed one (if I can find a control-head). The engine is not pretty, but runs good and sounds GREAT! Oh, and she's autographed: my dad had a neighbor who was a good friend of Gerry Coker (who designed the body of the "Big Healeys"). They came over to visit one day when Gerry was visiting, and Dad had Gerry sign the inside of the boot lid.
