To really appreciate this, click on the picture, then go "full screen." Next, use the + to zoom in and the arrow keys to move around. At first I thought "man, look at all the trash left on that mountain (along the leading edge of the glacial ice flow). Then, when I zoomed in, I realized that wasn't trash - it is hundreds of base camp tents for various expedition base camps! Amazing!

wow... I didn't even notice that til i came back and read the rest of your post. The tents definitely bring a full sense of scale to the scene.
 
I'll bet every climber has at least one "Save the Planet" tee shirt. Disgusting.
