Hey Paul !!

We've been away for a while. Your car was just
on the street when we left.

How about an update with some photos of your engine
in the car.

If this is a duplication I apologize. I searched in
back threads and did not find your engine bay photos.

thanks and have a blast driving.

Dale,

This is it. Finally completed. Almost done with the break in. By the time we do the CT trip and show this weekend, I'll have plenty of miles for the head retorque and tweaking.

I met Bill (Kodanja) this morning to drop off some brake parts, but we've met face to face before. I'm looking forward to meeting some of the other guys from here on Sunday. It should be a fun day. Maybe I can get some of them to come to the Cape for the big show in September this year.

JUST LOOKS AWESOME!!! :yesnod:

If he was my neighbor I'd slap him. Puts most us to shame

WOW. And it supplies power to the wheels too?? Incredible. Just incredible.

Thanks guys. The fulfillment of many years of work and planning finally done. Last project will be the dash panel replacement and cleaning and refurbishing of the gauges, but I think that I'll wait for the fall unless I get ambitious and start on the spare gauges on rainy days.

I'm (actually WE) really enjoying driving it now.

"How sweet it is!"
Paul there is so much to look at so you might think this is a strange question. On the fender, is that a magnetic strip to keep the bonnet prop quietly in place?

Good Grief! You could eat your lunch off it! Very nice indeed.

PB,

It's old fashioned black vinyl electricians tape to keep the rod from scratching the paint.

Thanks Paul. I wasn't sure. Thought maybe you came up with some innovation. Right now I have an unsightly strip of RTV there. But since the thought occured to me that your's might be a magnetic strip, I might just see if that works. I can hear my prop rattling at times maybe a magnet would silence it.
Jeff @ Advanced sent me some of his magnetic business cards..just might be the ticket.

That's a work of art Paul!

On that prop rod thingie, I used a piece of transparent Postal tape. It's invisible and tough, and protects the fender paint.

One other comment, and please don't take this as criticism, but that chrome valve cover sets off the rest of the engine so beautifully that it seems a shame to have the black brake booster hose draped across it. I routed mine behind the engine, cable tying it to the holes in the base of the battery platform. It shows off the engine better, and mine is NOWHERE near as nice as yours.

Great job, Paul!

Tom,

I've been thinking about that hose. I have to order some things from Summit racing soon and I think that will be replaced with stainless braided line to match the rest.

I still have to install the newly chromed valve cover with the Wagner silicone gasket, after the head is re-torqued next week. If the hose comes in time, I'll probably do it then.

As far as the black tape goes, I like the clear postal tape idea and I also have some clear HD plastic velcro that I may try.

There's always something to do. I'm hoping to get some odds and ends done on Saturday, so this stuff is all on the list.

Paul, BEAUTIFUL! Just amazing! Nice inspiration for the rest of us!

On the hose for the brake booster, could you get some steel tubing and bend it to shape, going down the side of the valve cover, around behind and over to the booster, with rubber connections at either end? Just a thought.

Again, NICE JOB!

Peter,

Good idea. Then I could have it polished or plated to really dress it up.
