Probably a funny question here, but I wonder about the MPG on the TR6 vs. the Bonneville? I would like to get a '67 TR6 (the green single carburetor model) and I just wondered about the MPG. It would be fun to pull into bike night on a cool 60's bike wearing a surfer shirt, weegins and white Levis.
 
i cant speak for a single carb, but my bonneville 750 used to get 40+ easily. i imagine a single carb could hit hi 40's

You might expect MPG in the low to mid 40s with conservative riding.

And, you might also expect road rash and skin grafts if you wear "weejuns" and "white Levis" for riding gear.

LOL.
 
Back in '65 a buddy and I made several trips from Jacksonville, FL to St Petersburg and back over the weekend and we were dressed that very way. No money for a helmet and I doubt if I would have worn one then. I am glad to be alive today!

Amen Brother!

During high school and college, MANY rides to Seaside Heights, New Jersey on a 305 Scrambler with cut-offs and flip flops.
(and a cheesey $14 "Two Guys" helmet, because they were required, even back in '60s, in NJ)

I am also <span style="font-style: italic">"glad to be alive today!" </span> :thumbsup:
 
I had a 72 Tiger 650 single carb with tall highway gears (I don't remember the ratio) I got about 50 mpg and pushed it hard pretty regularly.
