Well everyone, If all goes well, we'll be moving to our place outside of Locust Grove, Oklahoma on or before April 30th. Found a cash buyer for our place here. Everything looks good, but as we all know, you can't count your pennys until the fat lady sings!

Will keep everyone up to date on the progress. PJ

From one Paul to another. Good luck and keep us posted.

Cash? There's someone with cash left?

(Seriously, congrats on the big change, and best wishes on your move. Eastern Oklahoma is one beautiful place!)

There should be lots of good places for "land outs" in Oklahoma :jester:
Good luck with the move... hope everything goes well.

 Good Luck and congratulations. Just curious, is this a job related move? Seems it's a big change from South Carolina weather-wise. We left Florida for New Mexico and everyone thought we were crazy. Turns out it was one of our best decisions. Have no desire to live any place else.

My wife and I moved from Sacramento to Northern Alabama two years ago and I often say that we should have done that years ago.

Moving across country is a big job but good luck with your move and we know that you'll enjoy Oklahoma as we have relatives in Tulsa.

Cheers - Dennis

Here's an early "welcome to Oklahoma" Paul.

Good luck with the move and related house buys/sells. May it all go smoothly!

One Word

Why?

10 years ago we wanted to retire in Oklahoma close to our son, but couldn't find a place that we liked. We retired here in SC because my folks were here. My dad has passed on and my 4 sisters take care of mom so there's no reason for me to stay in SC. We found this horse farm a couple years ago with room enough for a aircraft runway, amongst other things, and made the decision to move. My wife is from Kansas and most of her family, whom I think the world of, is in the West. That will give them and us a better chance to visit.
Incidentally, We were married in Miami, (pronounced Miama), Oklahoma many, many years ago, so were familiar with the territory.

Thanks for the info, my curiousity is now sated. Enjoy Oklahoma!

Understandable now. the only feeling I have for that state is watching a wasp walk over to my hand while I was sitting at a rest stop and it bit me!

Besides being hot and dusty.

'and it bit me!'

Must've known you weren't from around there.

When Texas sesceeds from the union, only a rumor, can I change Texas from a state I have visited tyo a country?

Unknown to many people, the eastern side of Oklahoma, east of Tulsa, is called the green country, as it is mostly rolling hills with much forestry and greenery along with many, many beautiful lakes for boating and fishing. One lake by us is about 15 miles long. Did a lot of water skiing on those lakes many years ago.

Good luck to you in your move, Paul. Moving can elicit mixed emotions and I hope yours are all good!

I've moved more times than I can count, but my feet have been planted for 11 years in my current digs, by far the longest I've ever lived in one place.

With each move, you always make new friends. Sometimes, new friends seem to make it all worthwhile (they have for me!).

Best wishes, keep us posted!

It must be all good, Oklahoma is OK, just like on the license plates.
