Moving around an MG

In about a week I should be back home and back in the B briefly before the fun and games of paint body and interior begins.

I'm going to need to move the B around during this time between stripping and body work at a friends garage 50 miles from where I live to final paint and then during reassembly and I'm wondering what’s going to be the best way to tow it.
I am assuming that if I go the flat or dolly route that the drive shaft will have to be removed. If I was to rent an auto trailer from uhaul would there be clearance issues with the mg being so low to the ground.

Hopefully the body work will go fairly quick and I need to figure out what color I’m going to paint. I’m bouncing back an forth between a dark BRG to the original color of the car vermilion or blaze red or possible a dark metallic gray similar to the pewter metallic but slightly darker.

The so cal need to prepare for more rain as I’ll be home next week and it seems to rain every time I’m in town.

You're a bit late, it rained today and the forcast is for sunshine for the next two weeks.

I rented a U-Haul flat trailer to move my B a few months ago and there were no clearance issues. The car barely fit on the trailer because the wheel track is so narrow but it did fit. Personally I wouldn't tow an MG by two wheels. They are low to the ground and suseptable to damage. If it's wire wheels be sure not to tow it backwards!

I do have to mention that a neighbor did mention the "gunshot" just out side his window. It happened to coincide with the morning I had my backfire, Hmmm, connection? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

The big nut that holds on the wire wheels is threaded opposite of the direction of rotation while moving forward. If tow/drive it backwards there’s a good possibility the nut will loosen up and the wheels falling off.

Something tells me the forecast for LA will suddenly change next Sunday or Monday and rain will become an issue once again. Rain seems to follow me every where I've gone this year. It's getting rather annoying at this point. Chances of rain doubles the second I remove the top from the B. Then again the second I start doing work on the B the record hi temps will roll in. I can’t win.

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/iagree.gif The uhaul trailer worked great...try to get on where the left fender folds down for easy access and exit from the vehicle...unless you have the top off. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
