I have been asked to help a friend who is remounting his freshly painted fenders on his fresh TR3 frame-off restoration. It's been more than twenty years since I restored mine and at that time there were two trains of thought regarding sealing the bolted seam: 1) use a sealer between the flanges to prevent rust 2) do not use a sealer to allow water to drain through the seam. I chose the latter option and can see no indication of rust, but I have had no reason to pull the fenders to examine the flanges. What is the current thought? Any other advice regarding fender and beading replacement? My memory is not so good; they say it's the second thing to go. I can't remember what's the first. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
