Mounting a BN1 fuel pump

I've been trying to find out how the fuel pumps in BN1s were originally mounted. My car has a more modern replacement that was originally crudely bolted directly through the heel board with a fairly ill fitting rubber pad to provide some sort of insulation. My new heel board has no holes for mounting the fuel pump so how was this originally done? Was there some sort of bracket? And where was it located on the heel board? I've been unable to track down any pictures anywhere.

Any help gratefully received.

AFAIK, BN1s used the same pump and mounting as our BN2. The pump has two studs which protrude through what I call the rear bulkhead ('heel board?'); on a RHD car this would be just behind the passenger seat, just outboard of where the port (leftside) battery is mounted.

Hi Andrea,

I'm assuming you are referring to the last photo? I thought it looked familiar. I took the original :congratulatory:.

That car was a BN1 but I think the car was going to be fitted with a single battery as the fuel pump location looks like it will be in the way of the second battery. So I'm guessing the fuel pump must be nearer the wheel.

Yup. It has to fit between the port-side battery and the shock.

Should add that the pump--at least on our BN2--straddles the 'embossed' portion of the rear bulkhead. I had to stack washers on one stud to even them out (anyone know if there's supposed to be a spacer in there?).
