Hi!

I have a question: I own a jaguar xj6 1968 since a month. I was wondering if you experts can tell me what motor oil to use? What is best for the engine?

thanks!

I have an 87 XJ6 and am using Castrol GTX 20/50. Unless you live in a northern state which cooler temperatures, you will get better idle oil pressure with 20/50 versus 10/40 or 5/30

I use 20/50 in any name brand oil.
Another thing I've heard is that many use the Lucas oil stabilizer too. It has the consistency of STP.

Lucas oil stabilizer in the engine is unrequired if the motor is in reasonable condition.---Fwiw---Keoke- /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nonod.gif
