Has anyone fitted a MotaLita wheel to a BN1 with a MotaLita boss? Will I need a dished wheel or can I get away with a flat one?

I have a flat Moto Lita Wheel which was supplied by The Healey Factory in Melbourne. They told me at the time that the boss that they supply with such steering wheels is specially made for them because the Moto Lita boss is too long and places the wheel too close to the driver's chest.
 
Hey Cat, Here's one my BJ7. I don't know much about the different hubs and this was on my car when I bought it so I just continue to use it. But it is flat. Also I think the steering wheel position on my Healey is better that positions such as an MGB.

I have a flat adjustable hub and Moto-Lita wheel on my '57 100-6 MM. No trouble mounting it.

The Moto Lita wheel on mine__non-adjustable column__has a pretty shallow dish to it. It's not so much that it makes the wheel feel appreciably closer, but does give a little more knuckle room around the crash roll.

Or maybe after forty (>39) years, I'm just used to it.

I can't speak to the installation of steering wheels on the early cars. But I can say I have purchased really nice Molta-Lita-style steering wheels from a UK firm on eBay for both a Jaguar MK2 and a Healey BN7 at fraction of what most ask for them. Each came with the hub and screws and not a clue as to their origin. The one on a '62 MK2--I think it was a 15 or 15 1/2" wheel--replaced what I believe was a 17" wheel. It didn't get by the scrutineers at car show, but it was the best thing I ever did for that car, changing the driving sensation from something like an early pickup truck to a very nice handling modern sedan.
