I forget what he called it. but Buckminster Fuller (the inventor of the geodisic dome) designed a car that would turn on it's own axis. There was a prototupe biult, that was the ugliest thing I have ever seen.
 
I saw the Scarab on a show about Tucker recently, and it was kinda homely.
