Most annoying songs

I still CAN NOT stand "Horse With No Name" - the song is just repetitive.

When I worked night crew at Safeway, they played "The Twelve Days of Christmas",
by the Muppets.

That's actually one of my all-time favorite songs.

I am a huge Beatles fan. I loath that song. Nuff said.

Phew (RE: Imagine)

It seems though that one of your all time favourite songs is either Horse with no name - OR - Twelve Day of Christmas by the Muppets.

I'm curious

ANYTHING by Barry Manilow..... Anything!

Horse With No Name - evokes some fond memories from my ute.

SWMBO was (is) a huge Barry Manilow/ John Denver fan - I am reliably assured that Manilow did an amazing live show.

From an old timer:
1940s - HutSut Song. Mickey. Rose O'Day.
1950's - practically anything written before Rock & Roll, especially Perry Como stuff like Hot Diggity, Patti Page How Much is that Doggy in the Window, many others.
1960's - About The Bird (already mentioned) Punk Rock.
1970s-90's - I Will always Love You.
2000s - present - EVERYTHING!

On the other hand...

...my favorite song: :devilish:

There are a few on here I like, or at least don't hate.

Don't really hate Macarena or Seasons in the Sun, but can understand the annoyance. 8675309 Jenny Jenny I like. Moody Blues I like, some Bee Gees.

Best friends cousin was in the Trashmen, band that did the original Surfing Bird. All but forgotten in the 70s and 80s, revived by some commercials and Family Guy later on.

There is one I can't stand above all others, listened to a lot of alternative radio in the 90s (kind of gave up on popular music about the turn of the century). There was a song the played over and over again, never got the appeal. Very repetitive and annoying.

"heyyeeeh yeeh heyeeh yeeh yeeh what's going on" until I want to scream.

Also most anything by Ann Murray or Helen Reddy (but Karen Carpenter is in fact a goddess, was not cool to like her when I was an adolescent boy, but appreciated her more as a got older, she has a voice like no other, cliche, they don't make them like the used to).

I agree - especially about Karen Carpenter - and yes it wasn't cool to like the carpenters (but I did) died too young and for an awful reason

When we got married,we went to Victoria,BC,& then to Lake Tahoe,
where we saw the Carpenters. To hear her voice in person was amazing.
I think that I had $10 on me to make it home - the good old days.....

I think Karen Carpenter and Judith Durham (The Seekers) are the two best female voices ever in music.

I might add Cass Elliot to that list.
