Moss rear main seal.

Has anyone had any experience with the Moss rear main seal for the 3000's? How does it comapre with the one offered by British Car Specialists? Moss' seal is considerably less expensive and looks about the same with basically the same installation proceedure as I understand it. Thanks and have a good day!

Betcha they're the same. BCS is a Moss dealer. I have the Moss kit--works fine.

Ive had both in my hands.

BCS sells two. One from MOSS and one from from Dennis Welch. The difference I noticed was Dennis' has a square plate and is red. I will asssume the holes have to line up in the same place, per installation.

When I removed my transmission, clutch, I found the PO had installed the MOSS unit. No leaks from it. Seems my leak was coming from the front main bearing cap, via the seams and two felt plugs.

In the words of the almighty bighly, the Moss kit is just dandy.

John, I installed a Moss rear seal kit when I rebuilt my engine in '99. Good stuff! During the drive to Tahoe in '02, I put over 3000 miles on the car without having to add ANY oil.
