Moss permanently lubricated U-Joints

Folks,

Since in order to install U-Joints, one has to remove the end-caps, how do the Moss permanently lubricated U-Joints maintain the seal to keep the lubricant within the caps?

Thanks.
Ron

Ron, from my experience and reading, ( i once watched a 7 part video on the technology of U-joints), permanently lubed joints are basically the same as ones that have a zerk fitting. Different manufactures have designed different seals but the caps come off the same way. According to the video series, the u-joints without the zerk fitting actually last longer than ones with fittings. The theory is that the non-greaseable fittings have the correct amount of grease in them an are not prone to losing grease from pushing the seals out by over greasing. It was stated that when installing the u-joints one should be careful to not remove/lose the grease and also to not mix up the caps. The source of the video series is very authoritative I believe and is none by the automotive department of Weber University on Youtube. Just type in 'Weber Auto' and 'Universal Joints'. The best u-joint is still made by Spicer, and be careful of Knock Off Clones.
