I'll be installing an aluminum head on my 3000 and would like, for the sake of appearance, to paint it Healey Green. Just a personal preference, I've painted a few other non-stock items (e.g. the aluminum plate on the spin-on oil filter adaptor) and like the look. I've used Hirsch's heat-rated engine paint and it's fine, but I don't have the interest in using a compressor, etc. to spray it on (it's not offered in spray cans). Brushing on with a foam brush does not look well finished (I did that for my intake manifolds). I've had really good luck with Moss's spray-on Healey paint, but I'm not sure if it'll handle the heat of a hot cylinder head. Any info on the heat rating for Moss's spray paint?
