Moss "Old Style" Thermostat [?]

Hello...and Happy New Year) fellow AH friends...

Has anyone used the Moss Sleeved Thermostat, original type vs. the "failsafe" thermostat that they offer?

According to the site...:The original design of most older British cars called for a sleeve type thermostat which moves to blank off the coolant bypass port when as the thermostat opens. This exact type of thermostat has not been available for many years. The amount of water that is allowed to bypass the radiator with modern replacement thermostats is enough to cause overheating in marginal engines. Early cars have large bypass ports, and cooling can be improved by installing our reproduction of the original style thermostat."

thoughts/comments welcome...
thanks

Yes Patton, Moss has picked up the "original style" sleeved thermostat and have had it available for some time now.---Keoke
