Hey all, it's been a while since I've posted anything. I have since managed to get my clutch working properly, and I expect (fingers crossed) it will continue to work ... I also did a custom fit of a VW brake master cylinder as mine was leaking and I was unwilling to spring $230 for a new one and was unable to get the existing one disassembled and rebuilt. Details are available, but I can't really recommend either as a terribly practical solution unless you're having problems and you're fed up with the existing hydraulics.
At any rate, I'm curious to know (as I'm interested in purchasing) a set of 4 of the Moss Minataur wheels (or whatever it is they call the Mini lite replicas). It turns out that the backspacing on a stock wheel (measured by Jim Knight of British Racing Green) is 3.75." Interestingly enough, the moss wheels have the same backspacing of 3.75" but are advertised as 13X5 instead of 13X4.5. This indicates that they stick the extra .5" on the face of the wheel instead of shifting the backspace by .25" to make the wheel center on the hub. I've noted in the past that the wheels are recommended to be checked for fit before use. I intend to use these as autocross wheels with Yokohama AO32R tires (size 175/60R13) because that is the smallest tire anyone seems to sell in a competition compound. I've noted that Jeff has said in the past that a 185/70?R13 will fit in the wheel wells, but was curious if anyone had any experience with the moss wheels and/or D.O.T. legal slicks like Yokohama, Kumho, etc.
As an added question, might anyone have a yokohama/kumho/whatever in that size that's used up and could be shipped to me for test-fit purposes? I would of course pay the costs involved.
I recognize that this is a long one and hope that some might have some answers! Thanks again for your help.
