Morris Minor motor mount?

Saw an article today about the millionth Morris minor. It looks like it shares a lot of parts with the spridgets. In the pic below, is that an additional motor mount? Right in front of the battery going between the bottom of the battery box to a head bolt near the heater valve.

It definitely looks like a motor mount to me, just a really odd one both in type and location. It looks adjustable much like a tie rod, I have no idea what it could be for, much less why you'd want an adjustable length motor mount. Also is that an electric fuel pump mounted to the left (right in the photo) of the battery box?

There is another thread in the Spridget forum where this is explained.

The rod is called a “steady bar” which keeps the motor from rocking left to right upon quick acceleration even though there is no “quick” acceleration with an A series engine. And yes, that is an electric fuel pump, the standard location for a Morris.
