For the Wiper switch Practical Hints shows a GROUND wire to one side of the switch and an unmarked wire to the other side which I assume to be GREEN/BLACK. Looking at another diagram I see a GREEN wire to one side of the switch and a BLACK/GREEN wire to the other side. Which is correct?
Also there are two ground wires coming off the loom at the wiper motor...one grounds to the motor close to the green and green and black wires.....but there is another ground wire that has a large "eyelet" on the end...where does that ground to? Thanks in advance.

The eyelet one should go to the base of the bracket where the motor is placed/bolted on the firewall.

If you have the later, self-parking wiper motor, then the switch gets grounded. And there should be only one ground wire at the motor, the one with the ring terminal (which goes under the bolt that holds the bracket to the body).

When the dash switch is closed, it provides a continuous ground so the motor runs continuously. When the wipers are away from their 'park' position, the park switch in the top cover provides a second ground, through the motor body and ground wire. With the dash switch open, the park switch opens when the motor gets to the 'park' position, and the motor stops.

Watch out for which way the green and black/green wires attach to the motor. If you get the terminals swapped, the fuse will blow.

Randall In regard to the wiper switch does a green wire go to thr terminal one side of the switch and a black green wire go to the terminal other side of the switch?

A 59 should have the self-parking motor, so the switch gets a black ground wire instead of the green hot wire shown in earlier diagrams.
