I was very fortunate when I got the SuperB that this very unique rad venturi was still in the boot, a bit dented and covered with multiple layers of paint, but it cleaned up very nice. The valance is also hand fabricated from a single piece of alloy. It was torn in half, but was able to find someone to weld it back together. I can't count how many hours it took to panel beat it back into shape.

The grill is just an original early MGB grille, with every second slat cut out. The perimeter chrome ring has been painted body colour. The valance port will be filled with the oil cooler soon. Sebring covers over lights and blank plates over signal lights to follow.

Are you gonna paint the Sebring covers black?
 
Not black ... they stay clear with a spotlight behind. That is the way it was, so I am replicating. No alternator, so I don't think they will be much more than for the aerodynamics and matching appearance. I have a later version of white fibreglas covers that looks pretty good too.

Mike, are you really going to run without alternator?

The loss is quite small and having to push start the car when the battery loses charge is a pain, or a major pain if it happens in pregrid.....

Been there, done that - we finally told a friend with a Healey 3000 that he either got a generator or he could push it himself!

Never crossed my mind much about the alternator. My F.Ford racing days was all I know, and never had a fail to start. I always use an auxillary battery (remote plug-in) for start-ups.
I don't know when the alternator was abandoned on Pease's MGB, but likely when it interfered with the blower. If the car were running in enduros, it would have the alternator. With races now only being 20 lap sprints, it should never need it.
My current set-up could easily add the alternator and after the first shake-down race meet I will know for sure.
Your concern is noted ... in particular because I will be at a lot of meets without crew.
