I have decided on the canvas top. Probably the Sun-Fast from Moss. I am leaning toward the black but the wife thinks the tan would look better since I have the tan interior.

I have not seen a British Racing Green TR6 with a tan top. Any opinions or pictures would be appreciated.

Did Triumph offer a tan top in '69?

Thanks again, Pete

The tan would look very nice. Can't recall seeing a 6 with it, but have seen several green 7s so equipped. I'm not sure, but the "original" top may have had Day-Glo reflective stripes. As an old married guy myself, I would listen to the lady on this one.

Compare Rimmers or one of the other British sites. The exchange rate is making them very favorable right now.

I have an old english white B. The interior is autumn gold,a kinda darkish tan, and I thought about a tan top.
I decided than the tan might make it a little to bland, or frilly, so I got the black.

I have seen numerous British racing green TR6's at car shows, and personally I think they look better with the tan. Sorry I don't have pictures. Unless you feel strongly about the black, I would honor your wife's suggestion. Not that I would be manipulative or anything, but showing you wife you value her opinion might also make it easier later on when you need other parts.

I like both the black and the tan colors, but think tan might look a little better, at least on a TR6. Not sure what the factory color was on the earlier cars.

Question: The top on my car, installed by the prior owner, is a rather woolly, almost "hairy," canvas material. Is that the standard "canvas," or does that mean the prior owner went to some special length in finding and ordering it?

Also, my old TR book refers to the factory top as being made of "mohair."

So, in ordering a new top, do you ask for mohair or canvas?
