ok fellas, it seems for every step forward, i take one back in this whole project i'm doing. It seems as though i have an earlier motor than i though - the thermostat housing outlet goes towards no inlet on the radiator. I've got a spare engine with the housing that i need, but the studs are not long enough. i'm not going to grind down the housing to make it fit. i have three good radiators - two from late 1275s and one from a 1500 none seem to fit the application at hand. Anybody know what i should do here?
possible solutions i was thinking of.
1. switching the studs from the spare engine and using the later model therm cover.
2. getting some flexible antifreeze/coolant hose and running a hose to where it needs to go. not the prettiest solution, but a quick fix until i can get my hands on a radiator that works with stock hoses.
3. running it without a radiator (this will end my involvement in the whole project, thus ending up with the least amount of time and money dedicated to my car) lol. kidding of course
4.grinding the later housing enough to expose threads on the studs.
what'ya think?
