Wedge More Q's on TR8

Is there any history on chronic overheating problems with the "8"
Found one to look at that has a hot start problem (it doesn't).
Do these two problems go together or just coincidental ?
Are TR8's any more or less susceptible to electrical woes than other English cars ?

I admit I should have done more homework before starting the hunt but I've found a
couple kind of by accident and figure I've got to start somewhere.

Thanks, Bob

Generally if the cooling system is in good working order there isn't a cooling issue. Once you start uping the HP with engine mods, you generate more heat and the stock system starts to struggle. Aluminum radiators are available that help, and here in Mass, most of the TR8s do away with the ac systems. Losing the AC condenser in front of the radiator helps. Hard starting is most likely indicative of a tired stock starter. The common upgrade is to install a higher torque starter from the later Land Rovers or a similar mini starter. It could also be associated with the ignition system or the carb/carbs. If you are actively looking, I have two clean TR8s for sale. Come have a look. Email me if you want to start a dialog and get a bunch of pics. tkishbach at comcast dot net

I have removed my A/C condenser and have a new aluminum radiator to go with my new engine. It runs just above the middle on the hottest summer days with the fan on.

EDIT: The fan is setup as a puller.

I'd add, to your wiring question, no specific wiring issues. Having had the whole range I'd say fewer problems actually. Depends on the car and DPOs of course, and the FI system is another thing.

Go see Todd for sure.
