More on Radio Blanking Plates and Ear Buds

I got some good feedback from my previous post...Radio Blanking Plates. But a couple of new questions came up.

One, I THINK, but now I'm not sure, that the console in my 74 is original equipment. If I was home, I take and post a picture. Anyone out there have a picture of a 74 console?

Two. EAR BUDS/Headphones. I didn't realize they were illegal in some states. I have moderate high frequency hearing loss, complete with the constant ringing in my ears. I wear digital hearing aids to bump up the high frequency sounds when I'm watching TV or at work. But, going down the road in my B (top up or down...doesn't matter), I couldn't a firecracker going off in the seat beside me...good old B noise overrides that...especially if I'm wearing my "aids."

So...it's buds or phones or no music. Anyone know whether they're legal in Tennessee?

I tried to get a pic of mine with my phone, but didn't have enough light to get a decent picture at this hour...I will email a better one once it gets lighter outside and my wife is up to tell me where the good camera is.

This sounds sooo familiar... I even have to ask about things like socks sometimes... I think they PURPOSLY hide stuff from us, too. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

I'm not a Tennessee lawyer, but I tried to look it up and I didn't see anything making it illegal.

disclaimer- don't rely on me, I'm Indiana only...sorry, always the lawyer. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Lawguy--look in the vehicle code section. In California, there is a clause about being able to hear emergency vehicles BUUUUT, they now want us to use hands free cell phones, ie, ear phones???? This is true of bicycle riders using epods but they are not bothered.
Unfortunately, these laws are really for making money not for a safety factor.

Larry,

Look at 100DashSix's post about his new 74B...it has a good picture of the orginal console on it!
