So, they're welding up the holes where the luggage rack was mounted & beginning the final preparation for paint...y'day they cleaned the entire undercarriage once again & got all the undercoating off...the wheel wells will be painted the same shiny red as the body while the rest of the underside will get bedliner tinted the same color as the car.

Here's a question: the area behind my grill was painted black...but when we pressure washed it, the black came off & there's red underneath so it might've been done by a PO....should it be black or red behind the grille?

I think that is one of those things that is always debated, but never answered. I'd go with what Biff says.

Can't say that I've seen it often on real cars, but according to Horler, p. 70, "Color Schemes", paragraph 1:

"...Irrespective of body color, the area behind the radiator grille was sprayed black."

I'll have to do a bit more looking to see when this changed, because I'm sure that's not the case on later models.

Get out that book, Tony...got to do your homework /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif
