5/16-18 UNF thread with 1/2" hex head

A counter-person at a hardware store might incorrectly call this nut a "1/2 inch fine" (referring to the wrench size and fine thread).

Last time I used my magnetic pick-up tool was for this exact problem.

i was putting a replacement mechanical fuel pump on the midget today and murphys law kicked in as i dropped one of the nuts down into the "black hole" between the starter and the block.

does anybody happen to know what size these nuts are so i can get one from the hardware store without having to pull the other one off?
