Whenever we visit my Welsh in-laws I excuse myself for a day-trip to:
Hay-on-Wye, a small town (village, even) nearby.
<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:] Bookshops in and around Hay-on-Wye
Hay-on-Wye has become world famous for its secondhand and antiquarian bookshops. At present there are approximately thirty major bookshops in the town some specialising whilst others carry general stock. [/QUOTE]
And they've other shops that are pretty nice- a good cookshop, a lovely little candy shop, art sellers. And a goodly collection of hostelries and eateries.
A great place to visit, well off the beaten path and great scenery to see, too.
And the people are pretty nice, too... unless you're married to one, then... well, it has its ups and downs....
A whole town, just full of bookshops....
And, for you Lotus lovers, the
Elan Valley is pretty close by, for a scenic drive....
