Monumental task underway

Hello All,

I purchased a 1955 Austin Healey 100 (BN1) sometime around 1982/3. When I entered the Navy in 1985, I sold it to my dad because he always wanted one. Fast forward a few decades, and I find that he's left it on the street, uncovered, never driven the entire time. Needless to say, my once-proud "daily driver" is a mess!

I offered to take it back from him, and he initially wanted me to pay him what he originally paid for it (because "all it needs is a little "mystery oil in the cylinders and I'm sure it will start right up"). I told him I'd take it off his hands and restore it if he'd just give it back -- which he did.

Just about the time I was going to get started, the roof of my (very old) garage collapsed -- luckily the Austin Healey wasn't in the garage at the time!

So, now I am about to embark on the monumental task of a complete restore. I'm sure this is the right place -- I am going to need a LOT of advice from y'all! When I get done (and hopefully and I move through successful phases), I'll be able to provide some good advice myself.

And so, here I am!
