Can anyone tell me when AN525172 was built? Thanks
 
Probably October '59.
 
AN5L25757 was produced 23 Oct 1959. I suspect that yours was produced a few days before.

Ray, I'd suspect your car and Blue Max's car came over on the same boat. 4 days apart, 255 serial numbers different, something like produce 100 cars or so per day assuming weekend was in there.Bugsy produced around October 15-17 possible 1959. Interesting minutia.
 
Not my car. I just found it on a data base that included heritage certificate build dates. My car, AN5L 9382, was produced on 2 January 1959 and shipped to Yokohama Japan on 6 January 1959.
 
OK so an early 2nd variation BE, not part of the first 6500. So AN5L25172 produced Mid October, AN5l9382 produced Jan 2 = 15,790 cars/10.5 months/21 working days per month = Production of around 70-75 cars per day.
 
My car and the new Whitefrog probably may be came over in the same shipment as mine was a west coast car about 95 car apart.
