Looking at my Miata Seats in Bugsy and I'm having an issue with white mold appearing on the passenger seat. I have a very damp garage and face moisture problems in the Spring and Summer with cool and damp conditions. Part of this is a result of Bugsy's semi permanent position stuck in the garage all summer.

Is there anything I can treat the seats with, that will kill mold, that is safe for Black Cloth seats. YEs sunlight would help as soon as I fix the intake manifold problem.

Yes a dehumidifier would help my tools but not an option right now.

I have used an ozone generator in my boats here at the coast to combat mold and mildew. I can run the ozone generator for a day and then just wipe the residue off the interior of my boat with a cloth or vacuum cleaner. There are all different sizes of ozone generators and you will only need a small one. I have seen small ones advertised that plug into a cigarette lighter outlet. I have no personal knowledge of how they work, but I do know the generators kill mold and mildew completely in an enclosed space. Just a suggestion to help your problem.

Now WTH do you find an ozone generator. Sound like a put on the tonneau or top and let it run for a couple of days.
 
Mine came from Quantum Electronics in Rhode Island. I don't have a phone number now, but have talked to them in the past and they were very helpful.

Oh yes, if you do get one, put it in the car with the top up and windows closed, or under the tonneau. One day of that and you will be amazed. It also gets rid of bad odors.

O3 and dehumidifer are 2 completly defferent animals.
O3 generator kills mold and just about any other living thing with high enough concentrations. It's an oxzidizer unstable it wants to be o2. Kills and leaves no evedince of it ever being there disapates rapidly. Sort of like perfect murder. Just exploded little molds spores. Leaves you with that just rained - thunder storm smell. o3 is usally made with high voltage corona discharge,sort of like a huge spark plug.
 
OK so anyone have any ides on killing the mold, some sort of spray on stuff that will not affect my Black Fabric Miata Seats in Bugsy. Ozone Generators are upwards of $200. I won't be able to sneak that one into the house.
 
Marine suppliers might have something. They have it for plastic. I picked up some for plastic. Just need to get it applied.

You should check your tool rental places most of them carry ozone generators they rent them to get rid of smoking odors it will cost you about 30 bucks a day and it should only take about 5-6 hours of exposure to kill every thing in the garage. dont point it directly at organic matrials as it will breack them down. Treat the whole garge if its on your seats its everywhere and it will come back in short order. When you do this stay away! it bad for you . If your garage is that damp how about a cheap walmart fan on a stand that moves back and forth put it on a timmer and run it every couple hours for a few minutes. Just moving the air should drop the humidity a little. Get the fan before you rent the generator and set it up to get coverage of O# thouout the garage.
 
Used centrifigal fans can be had from heating/ac installers for little or nothing. They move a lot of air but are not necessarly quiet (if thats a criteria). I have 4 plus some caged prop fans that came out of telephone switching cabinet. They are quiet and move air, too. Check dumpsters for these items or the local dump/recycling center. You can find many useful items in these places.
