Doc E. mentioned the Chinese Mokes in The Pub. I had heard about these a while ago, but didn't spend any time looking for them until today. Mini-folks are calling them "Chokes".

Apparently MiniMania is now selling them "partly assembled" (minus engine/trans) for $13,000 USD. In most states, I think they fall under the "kit car" rules.

They do not come with a VIN number so I guess you have to figure that out yourself.
