Anyone upgraded the fuse box on their 3 and have a pictures of the setup or a link to same? The wiring on my 3 has been repaired so many times it's scary and an under dash spaghetti junction! I was thinking that while I'm in there I may as well modernize the setup in regard to fuses . I'm not too concerned about originality here just reliability for long trips.

TR2/3/3A Modern Fuse Box on a Tr3?

I'm using a Ford 6 circuit surface mounted aux fuse panel. It has 3 circuits switched and 3 circuits unswitched but can connect all 6 either way. I bought it at Ford parts and I'll try to find the p/n if interested. Britishwiring.com also has several to chose from.
It's mounted upside down under the dash to the left of the glovebox.

I know a couple of guys have used these for there setup. We had a guy in our club use it for his TR6 and the hardest part was terminating all of the runs. That being said he loves it. He said the hardest part for him was waiting for his setup to arrive, they had some backup for orders at that time.....not sure about now.

Does sound like you need a new harness. That is what I did, then added a few inline fuses to some unprotected circuits. Also added a TR4 style fuse box in a discreet spoy under the dash and a fusible link for everything.
Even if one isn't "too concerned about originality" I think the original fuse holder appearance on the fierwall looks more natural that a modern fuse block sitting there.

Not quite as "modern", but I used a new TR6 fuse block (Lucas 7FJ). 4 circuits that can be wired either switched or unswitched (mine are all unswitched), and takes the same fuses as the original fuse block (which is still in place).
But I'm not real happy with the appearance, so if I ever set about dealing with cosmetics under the hood, I'll probably install a reproduction Lucas SF4 instead.

They seem to be from a number of cars,Range rover,morgan etc.Check UK ebay,or google,there are several suppliers of repros for 19pounds,or NOS for about 50 pounds,I am going to put one where the control box used to be,since I have an alternator and am making my own harness.I like the period look,and it uses screw terminals,4 circuits.
