Models that can seat 3 (2 - 1/2) People

Hi All,

Great forum here! Ill be in the market for a weekend cruiser in a few months. As much as Id love to get a midget. My life needs a second car that has a back seat and can seat 2 adults and a child.

As far as i can gather the following 3 do have a back seat:
-TR3
-Austin Healey 3000
-MGB GT

Not sure if my budget can afford a reliably running TR3 let alone a 3000.

Ive been mislead by a few rear platforms in photos. So though id reach out.

Note: Most likely i would remove the original seat, if it actually still has it, and save it. Build a steel frame with a children's racing seat and 5 point harness. And bolt or weld it to the middle of the rear seating area. But the car has to legally have had a seat in the space for me to get away with this. The rear MGB GT seats aren't too bad. But safety first.

Any other models that have a rear seat i could consider purchasing?

Thanks!

All those great black and white "the kids can ride too" adds from the 60s. Really got me going down a rabbit hole. Haha.

But I've sat in the back of a GT that had converted the bench to low-back buckets with 4point harnesses. They had done some modifying to the chassis underneath. But its where my thinking came from. It basically felt the same as the back of a mini. Just with a lower roof line.

Sadly the mini route is so costly. I'd probably lean in a differnt direct for my weekend ride.

Welcome! If you are looking for a convertible, and a back seat, consider a Stag or a Morris Minor - the Stag in particular is relatively undervalued.

keep us posted!

:iagree: Regarding the Stag. No modifications needed because there is a back seat. The comfort will be much better than your other choices.
