I've been building models since I was 5(ish?) Dad got me started early. Took some time off when we adopted our 3 kids. Now they are grown and I'm getting back to it. For the last 5 years I have been participating in a Facebook group that has a 24 hour build during the 24 hours of Daytona. This is this years build. The right half is the "mild" side and the left half is the "wild" side. Was an excercise to see how far I could push my painting abilities in 24 hours. Pretty happy with the results. I've added the bling bits since these pictures were taken.
Did anyone else buy the "Build it 2 (or 3) Ways!!" kits just to get all the optional extra parts? I harvested the extras and kept them in a big box until I had enough to build a wild freakmobile.
Unfortunately when I went to college, my mom figured that I'd given up on building models because I had left 5 or 6 unopened kits in the basement
I keep thinking I'm going to get back into it, but then I realize that I'm already neglecting the full-size cars in the garage.
I had a small collection of model cars. Then I started building peanut scale balsa and tissue airplanes. Had a mini air force hanging from the ceiling at one point. My parents eventually gave them all away. I got one of my boys to build a similar airplane but he wasn't excited enough to want a second one. My youngest is in the middle of a VW beetle but it looks like i might have to finish it.
