MKII Fan Blade Color

I stripped my fan of all the paint and found several layers of red and yellow and no metalic green. I always thought the fan was painted the engine color...is it possible the fan was painted the color of the red chassis originally?

Interesting...unfortunately, my fan has 4 blades...would that have originally been painted the metalic green?
