Anybody have a link to a place that shows mechanical bits and order of assembly?
I got a 2-speed motor (finally), and something doesn't look right.
Thanks.

Similar...seen those with the park switch under the main gear. My park switch is in the end of the long nose, where the cable comes in.

The arm (#3 in your drawing) where it attaches to the peg on the worm gear is where I have an issue.
Mine has a MUCH longer peg sticking out of worm gear (#7) that has two flats on it. The end of the arm (#3) where it fits over has a cam that rotates and stops when the motor runs reverse to park (on both of mine).
Both have a big cone spring, the one in question has also a big flatwasher that keys onto the shaft flats, and it's got three waves (like a wavy washer, but three dips instead of two) that rub on the heads of the stainless rivets holding the cam portion together.

Prevents the cam, or so it appears, from working normally, which should rotate to allow somewhat shorter sweeps and a longer throw to "park".

I figured out how to cut the swedge off the pot metal pegs on the spare conecting rod link, flip the stop plate over, drill, tap, and countersink for flathead 4-40 stainless screws, lock-tited together, took copious photos.
Now to open the one in the car and take photos, and swap in this connecting arm link for a test.

I think George Camp told me it sounded like the motor was running backwards.
Okay, what does THAT mean?
Try to find that information somewhere....anywhere.....even the Jaguar Factory Manual.....zip.

I found this link after a LOT of searching:

Granted, it's for an "E" type, but a Lucas motor, even addresses the cam arrangements.

Found the part on reversing the two pair (4 toatl) wires to the field...and the sweep is more to what I think it should be.
Now to get the windscreen wet and set up the "park".
