MK2 Sprite tach hookup???

Trying to sort my wiring out a bit more, btw my heater fan apparently was connected to battery and I left it on yesterday after getting caught in a downpour so today the battery was almost dead...

Trying to connect the tach today.
I have found a green wire that tests out as the wire to the coil.
I also have a Red/White pair of wires under there, seems like they ought to go to the tach. I don't know as the diagram has more wires going to the tach than my tach has places to connect the wires to.

So it's time for a couple pics, hopefully the brain trust here can tell me what I've got and how to hook it up!

The green wire goes to the spade terminal
A white wire makes a loop around the thumb screw terminal (inside the plastic)
And the red/white wires are for dash lights.
Be sure to ground the tach WELL as the ground on the bracket thumb screws are not the best ground in the world.
I run a separate ground from one of the guts screws on the back to a solid ground.

Thanks Frank, much appreciated!!

Where should the white wire go from & to?
Ignition switch & coil?

The white wire goes from the ignition switch TO the coil. the loop has to be going thru the thumb screw terminal in the correct direction.. from the switch to the right side of the tach passing from the right to the left. go around again and make a complete loop then on to the coil... at least that's what my DRAWING shows......

Thanks Bill,
There is a green and a blue connected to my coil.
I believe I found the green under the dash but I will have to double check.
I may wait until I have help on that one, for now I looped a wire through the connector on the back of the tach and put plugs on the ends so when I do find or make the wiring I can simply put plugs on and plug them in.

Got to looking at "the book". the inset shows the coil the going the opposite direction of the block diagram drawing... ???

If it doesn't work, try reversing the wire..

See ya on the 18th at Ed's
