MK2 sandwich mounts

These are the front suspension-to-unibody mounts.
Mine have failed, new ones on the way, I can fix this, but a question:

I have searched my J.33 parts manual and my factory repair guide......should there not be some kind of snubber between the suspension frame (on top) and the unibody to keep all the weight from cantilevering onto these sandwich mounts?
For now, I have slipped some old rubber aftermarket exhaust hanger washers in between (keeps the banging to a minimum), and it seems there SHOULD have been some kind of snubber....I just can't find anything in the "book".

Don't think so. Just the rear mounts. They did it that way for noise and harshness control. Try to get "metalastic" parts, as they last longest...
 
Just looked at my manual (pub. # E/121/2) and no mention there either, Dave. They must have considered the Metalastic mounts stiff enuff to stand on their own. Once ya have 'em installed, I'm guessin' the "gap" will increase enuff so as to be a non-issue... until time plays its hand again. :wink:
