There was one here in Northern California with a chevy engine and air conditioning. I want one too!

Why not a Jag 5.0 V8 with ZF auto with paddle shift. 375 HP or add supercharger for 550 HP. Used would price the same, as there are a lot of wrecked XK and XFs out there. You'll have a 5 sec car as my Rover has the 5.0 with ZF and 5900lbs for 7 sec.

I have a TVR with a 5.0, 8.70 @ 95. I have 12 engines on stands to choose from and my wife chose the 383 because it was the hottest I had. She is that kind of girl
when the kids were young they called her "Parnelli Mom". Her last four cars were all supercharged or turboed552037_3893963781346_698809338_n.jpg

When I saw the title of yur post, my first thought was "that's a good trade."

I have a 2.4 engine to rebuild, fresh head, 4speed o/d, exhaust manifold, carbs and air box, extra hood, extra boot, extra seats and other bits
shipping is a pain but I guess UPS would do it.

What year? 64 and earlier is a Moss box trans, 65 and later is full synchro. 67-ish and later is a 240, smaller bumpers, vinyl interior, side draught carbs, not Solex downdraughts.

1962 box non synchro, large bumpers, downdraft carbs, 2.4 block, fresh head, exhaust, bonnet and boot
lots of pieces. See albums, Hughextra8.jpg

Hugh, I like the way you think and your wife. Mine is the same, she turns down some great cars because they are not quick and I can't make them that way.
We are in our '70s and she just turned down a X Jag because it didn't have any power, (she's right). Looking at a '95 BMW 3 series now and wants the "M". Good luck, it won't change.

.Don't know if you know it but you have just created a GM Daimler. (Jag MKII German look alike).

Back in the sixties in a Daimler we were doing a ton (100MPH) and a MINI COOPER "S" went BEEP BEEP and blew by us. The Daimler then made him understand the power of a V8, he gave up at 130. So a MONSTER is coming!!

it "dreamwheels" out at 190 @ 6000 w/ 205-70-15 tires
I don't think top speed will be a problem. I am more of a handling guy
and so is my wife.

Very nice, it looks like it belongs and that's the mark of a true artist.
