Anyone got any tips or instructions installing the boot lid rubber. I have new clips and new rubber... Should I install the clips and then try fitting the rubber or install the clips on the rubber first? Do I need to use any glue?
Thanks bunches

Ok Ok I installed the rubber using just the clips. Went better than I expected.......till I tried to close the boot.... lid does not close seems there is a clearance problem. Can the earlier rubber that goes on the frame instead of the lid be used? Could the PO have changed boot lids? It's a '72 mini clubman
Thanks

I didn't reply earlier because I've only worked with the boot seal on my Mk1. That one is held on by clips and I assumed all those after Mk2 were glued on.

It can't hurt to try a Mk1 seal on your Clubman. The seal on my Mk1 stands about 9/16" tall off the metal and is "squishy". It feels like there is a thick web of material in contact with the boot lid and then a hollow core covered by a thinner layer of rubber that contacts the body opening.

According to Mini Sport the boot rubber is the same for mk 1-3 and changes for mk4. I ordered the mark-4 rubber and it will install on the body and not on the lid.. Got my fingers crossed that it will fit. The interference seems to be between the lip on the body and the rubber on the lid.
Thanks bunches
Gary
