Ah, those Brits. Not only do they have names of car parts that are entirely different from ours, but they sneak in variations even within their own manuals.
In the TR2(3) Service Instruction Manual, "Fuel System," #45 "Carburettor Tuning," I find the following:
"The rich mixture starting control linkage should also be disconnected by removing one of the clevis pins. This will enable each carburettor to be adjusted independently." In the many diagrams in the book, no "rich mixture starting control linkage" is shown or referenced!
At first, I thought the writer was referring to the jet connecting rod, but that was not the case because the instructions are specific here: "the jet connecting rod should be disconnected at one of its fork end assemblies and the choke control cable released."
Later in this section, I find: "The jets of both carburettors should be held against the adjusting nuts before replacing "the mixture control linkage."
Can anyone identify for me the "rich mixture strting control linkage"? Wouldn't disconnecting the jet connecting rod be sufficient to adjust each carburettor independently?
