Hi All,

I am a proud new owner! Completed purchase and delivery of the car about 6 weeks ago. I've wanted one of these vehicles for a very long time, and am only now finally getting one. My goals are not concours or a mint original restoration. It will be a daily driver that I intend to enjoy. In spite of that it will be an ongoing project for me as far as occasional updates and repairs (see a few pics). Glad to be here and be able to pick the collective brain when problems/issues arise!

Tim - welcome to BCF. Your first Little British Car - feels great, doesn't it? And having a classy - and classic - daily driver is what it's all about. Congrats.

How'd you first get interested in these cars?

Thx for the reply Tom! I'm 67 years old now. My interest was born when I was 14. My best friend was the youngest of 4 brothers. His oldest brother was a Corpman in the Marines - this was during Viet Nam. He came home on leave that summer (1969). I lived on my bike during the summertime, and was riding to my friend's house that day. As I pedaled up, there it was! His brother's white 1967 AH 3000 was sitting out front. I dropped my bike in the yard and spent about 20m just walking slowly around that car, scared to get too close for fear I might smudge it. Haha! You know how sometimes you see something like that that just grabs you - kind of overwhelms your senses? That was what that car did to me. I vowed to have one before I died. Well, here we are 53 years later!
 
Thanks Tim. For me, it was an XK140 I saw when I was in high school in the 1960s.

No way could we afford that, so settled on a 1955 Mk VII saloon car for $800. Moon roof, Borg-Warner overdrive, 3.5 doc six. Great car.

And so the addiction began.

welcome and for me it was a white 1966 White Barracuda - but I still ended up with british, in no small part because the second was a bugeye. Great car!

Welcome, Tim! Good looking Healey. We are the same age and I fell in love with Big Healey’s in High School when one of my friends was fortunate enough to acquire one. Fifty years later I finally put one in my garage.
