Every year at this time I make a trip to a Navajo Pueblo here in a very isolated..very poor part of New mexico. The plan was a pal was going with me but he developed a pretty serious medical problem and is unable to go. So yesterday my wife helped me position the 18ft car trailer in my shop and this week will be devoted to doing the pre-pack. She loans me her 4wd Durango and that will be packed and stacked with donations of clothes and other donated items. The trailer will be loaded to the max with materials, tools and other supplies and donations that are too large to fit in the vehicle Our local Lowes is helping me out with a big discount and also throwing in some small items at no charge. I would normally have some help doing this but all are either gone or hurt..and my wife, daughter and son all work. Luckily I have an electric overhead hoist to lift the heavy welders, air compressor and other big stuff. After the trip I come home, rest and finish the wheelchair lift van I'm giving to a family up there...towing the trailer again filled with furniture and equipment to start a tire repair shop on the Pueblo. Hopefully one of the wounded will be healthy enough to assist, if not it'll still happen.

Good on ya for this, Jack! I have plenty of fond memories of working with folks in Honduras and Ecuador.

 and :thankyousign:

Good Jack. Guys like you make me think there might be hope for the human race after all.

You are a good person, Jack. We we visited Taos Pueblo in late May and even with the big tourist income potential living conditions are 3rd world at best. Imagine a sign asking visitors to not throw things or wade in the stream running through the middle of the pueblo because it is their drinking water source.

Good job Jack. My 78 year old father is on a mission trip repairing houses in North Carolina this week. He's been to Chile, Kentcuky, West Virginia, etc. He loves it. My daughter has been to Honduras and Kentucky on trips. Very rewarding.
