I wrote on here about a year ago I went on my first Mission trip with two churches, Sugarloaf United Methodist out of Atlanta and a Baptist group out of Grey Ga. called Bugs for Christ. We did a body off resto on a 74 Bug and gave it to a needy family. Did more for me than I would have ever expected. This July around the 7th I'll leave here with my wife's Durango loaded with wood working tools and supplies but this time I'll be spearheading a group of young men repairing and remodeling. Two of the Bugs for Christ guys are driving a truck towing a trailer packed with tools and supplies. Wish us luck>>>I'm a geezer...guess they needed all my grey hair and vast wisdom on turning wood into sawdust....

I didn't know VW bugs were made out of wood! Or have you switched over to rebuilding Morgans? hehehehehehe
Good on ya Jack. I hope all goes great.

Am I reading this correctly.

I am so confused.

Wanna rebuild my son's Civil War era home in the Irish Channel in New Orleans?

Hey Bill, wanna pull all my wisdom teeth?

Jack, some of our guys are headed to Lajoya Mexico in late July for the same.

I'm no pro carpenter but so far most of my projects have turned out okay. My doors and windows keep out most of the big critters and my neighbors don't complain. being part of this mission and bringing a little bit of hope to these people is more than enough reward. I make some good pals up there last year and hope to make even more. The people there don't have alot....but when we arrived there they made us feel like part of the family. We also got a special donation request for one family in particular. He is unemployed, she has type 2 diabetes. They need all types of household items so today my A coupe brake rebuild takes a back seat and I'm going around to everyone I know, every church....call any agency I can think of to start gathering up items. My family is doing the same. Right now my daughter is on a church trip with her nine year old son to the mountains here in New Mexico but will return Friday and will hit the ground running. Hopefully we can collect more than is needed so we can distribute any overages to other families. Currently at my shop I have a pick-up load of things ...new and boxed ready to go.These are proud people living without the "benefit" of a casino like many others. many of us have given to disasters worldwide, but since participating in this last years trip...I decided the disaster is closer than I could have imagined.
