Well, Miss Chuff's new owner picked her up today and she is on her way to Missouri..
She fit very nicely in a U-Haul Trailer. The hardtop in the back of the tow vehicle...
The grandkids are in mourning, but the new owner seemed tickled.

Sad to see her go, but I understand (Tunebug left me last year). Got to do what you got to do. A beautiful car, should make the new owner happy.

As long as she is in good hands, thats what matters.

I think she is in the best hands she could possibly be in. The buyer had a black/red 63 Midget as his first car when he was 17 years old in the mid 60's... He has been searching for the identical car for quite some time... Sounds like she won't be for sale any time soon again..

When did this happen? And why weren't we told? Or did i miss things again? :cryin:

JP, apparently, my new hobby is collecting arthritis. I now have three different types, and was having trouble driving, or doing anything witht he car. After leaving it sit for the better part of last summer, and all winter, I decided I had better sell it in Feb. I listed it in the classifieds on the MGExperience and it sold within a week or so. It actually sold before I could list on the classified here and had two others wanting it if the deal fell through with the first buyer. The new owner wasn't able to pick her up until this week. I am looking for something bigger, that I can get in and out of easier. Also need something that doesn't need too much tinkering.

Yea,,, it sucks to get old.

Bummer, I only have slight arthritis - and then sporadically. (fortunately) sorry to hear though it sounds like she has gone to a good home.

I was riding in a friend's Corvair last year as I must say I was thinking that it suits me better size wise and travel wise but retains the quirkiness (and affordability)of an LBC.

please do hang around though!

Ditto.

An MGB is a nice, much-roomier choice. Even a Miata is a great car and a decent one should require no tinkering (I have an MGB and a Miata).

My doctor wanted a sports car but wanted his wife to share the fun....and she has some foot/arthritis issues. So he bought an automatic ALFA-Romeo Spider. He was sort of embarrassed to tell me, but I told him that was a great idea. Automatic Miatas are nothing to sniff at either.

I have sciatica and fairly bad neuroma (a nerve issue with the foot), so I can relate.
Do what works for you.

I was in a pretty bad car accident 6 years ago; it totaled my 2003 Mini and ruined my right ankle and left knee. I seriously doubted I could drive a stick again, so I bought an auto trans Miata. Very nice car and plenty fast, especially compared to my stock Bugeye. I enjoy it bone stock, no tinkering required. I do all of my own work on my Bugeye and take my Miata to the dealership for service. :driving:

JP, there is a convertible for sale down here. It needs work. It's partially diasasembled and may be missing parts.

HEY, that sounds like the perfect car for you. :hammer: :jester:

Should be rust free or minumal rust at best. Lemme know. It belongs to a shop owner my good friend works for. I can get the true down low on it. It's the better looking body style too.

Someone where I work has a black Corvair convertible.
It's simply gorgeous.
I only see it during the nicest weather in the summer.

Just what I need, more disassembled and missing parts. You guys are wicked! Do understand though that while I covet these things (yes, another sermon topic you will never hear from these lips) I have a 2 car garage, three cars already and no place else to put anything. And, this does not even scratch the surface of SWMBO's response if i brought another home - suffice it to say, rumours of my death would not be over rated.

BTW I do acutely feel the stress of "stuff" so I know what other members agonize over.

Of course that said, in my dream world, having the entire corvair range - Monzva convertible, rampside, Greenbrier, Lakewood and UltraVan would be pretty cool!

J-P - my first car was a '62 Monza coupe; black with red interior, back in '68 for my first year at LSU. Loved that car! But it didn't love me back, and the transmission (4-speed) died in it. Traded it in on a '63 VW sunroof.

Would love to have another Corvair, along with a dozen or so other cars...

If I got a Corvair, It would have to be a 65-69 Corsa or Spyder with either the 4 carb 6 cyl or the turbo... :driving:
