Miss Agatha has a new price

Jim,
Thats Miss Agatha...I figured that's the last view I would have of her!

Keeping Miss Agatha in the BCF family is a good thing! I purchased, "Elwood" from Longbridgehealey, which is now our "Baby Blue". It barely broke 32 degrees in Maryland today. Baby Blue is staying in her crib.

32 wow, a heat wave. A whopping 8 degrees in Dayton this am. Bugsy was shivering when I walked out of the garage.

Miss Agatha is going west on her very own trailer. She will be wraped in heavy suran wrap as she was fresh from the painter when I brought the shell home. Remember the trailer although only two wheeled has Ford 150 wheels and tires rated at 1500 lbs each. Trailer and Miss Agatha 2000 lbs. All the goodies are to go in the tow vehicle I hope. I keep finding more things. What a stash of really good stuff.

Congrats on the new acquisition, and have a safe trip towing that fine car back.

And I thought my drive down to San Diego this weekend was going to be a long drive!

Oh but you have to deal with the 405! I suggest taking 99 to the 5 and stay on the 5 until it merges into the 405 north of San Diego. The 5 is crowded but the 405 is always very congested.

We made need you to tell us the fastest way out of Texas. Not that we don't like Texas, its just that it seems like we will spend most of our driving time in Texas before we hit another state and feel like we have made some progress.

"Sun has riz and sun has set and here we are in Texas yet"!
(quote from my wife as we were driving from Florida to California many years ago)

Texas is half the trip. Stop for barbecue in Luling.
Due west on I-10. Speed limit goes to 80 west of san antonio, as I remember.
Try to avoid rush hour(s)
Agatha came from the Houston area.

When I was a kid my dad was in the Navy and was stationed in Hawaii for three years. Just before retiring he was sent to Orange Texas for six months and then finally to San Diego. At a going away party on a beach in Honolulu everyone was saying "LSMFT". Do you know what that stood for?

As I recall it had other meanings than "Lucky Strike means fine tobacco".

The people at the party changed it to "LORD SAVE ME FROM TEXAS". Remember we were in Hawaii at the time so going anywhere else was tough.

Here is a quick update before beginning the trip. My friend Joe who is half owner of Miss Agatha wound up in a Kansas City hospital on Thanksgiving day with a bad bout of Sepsis and will not be making the trip with me. He is vastly improved and will be released from the hospital today. Another friend of mine Charles is going to Sub for Joe. Charles is 86 and in good health except for his eye sight so I will be doing all the driving. We plan to take it slow and easy and hope to do a minimum of 300 miles a day so it could take about 7 days to get back home. I won't be posting to this thread during that time but plan to take a lot of notes and photos and get back here later.
