I was dropping the car off the jacks in the driveway and forgot to engage the emergency brake....and the driveway has an angle.
She rolled back into my wife's pickup...right onto my new Amco bumper bar! Bent the bar ever so slightly but saved about $300 worth of tail lights and a rear valance. Whew! Thanks, SCGuy.
I can pull the bar and bumper with a snatch strap. And our annual car show is in 3 weeks. Like I needed that. My first accident with my baby. I feel so bad.

Ah feel yer pain.

Frustrating but ya got off easy...considering. "A lesson learned in time".

Trust me...I feel your pain (you'd know that for sure if you're following my thread in the Pub). Mine got dropped at the body shop today.

Rich,
I read your postings on the Pub and from what I can glean from the threads is you seem to have "regular" car insurance because you refered to the NADA book value of your TR7. Curious, if indeed this is the case, why not carry collector's car insurance? Declared value (with proof), no deductable and low rates. Or is the TR7 too young to be considered "collectable"?

Bill,

Glad to hear the damage wasn't too bad. If I had a dollar for everytime I've screen something up....

I have regular car insurance too, I just have hard time with some of the restrictions that some of the carriers put on the cars. I mean I'd like to be able to legally drive my car to work on nice days......

I do have classic insurance on it for my own policy, with an agreed on value of $6000. However, the kid that hit me was at fault, so having to go through his insurance first. Took it to the body shop today, (drove great even at 70+ on the freeway) and they think they can actually repair everything rather than replace. Hard to believe though...the initial estimate is around $1400, and it's within $200-$300 of what Farmers will total it for. They have a TR7 valued somewhere right around $1800. I doubt I could find another one in as good a shape as mine for even close to $1800, and I know it wouldn't be a Spider. So if push comes to shove, I may end up running it through my insurance, and letting the insurances duke it out.
