Don't think they do, really. Remember the TR4 that went for $90K+? May have temporarily raised values, but they usually settle back down...

I expect to see the Moke pictured in the next issue of Classic Motorsports with the caption "Paid Too Much". Mokes are cute but not $20k cute.

With all things Mini, keep in mind that this year is the 50th Anniversary of its introduction. A lot of early cars, Mk1 parts, and period accessories are selling for really, really serious money at the moment. My hope is that saner heads will prevail next year when the hoopla and celebration are over. I like seeing the value of my car increase but I don't want it ridiculously overvalued either.

When you make 5.5 million of something, the supply just can't support extreme pricing, imvho. Sure, you'll have anomolies like a 500 original miles Cooper S (just a MADE UP example!), etc. and have certain parts that become hard to come by, but as far as I know, there are no Mini Royales or Moke Dinos or Spyders to be had....

BUT, look at Ford Mustangs, for example: Zillions made, original cost was very low. Today, a 65 V/8 goes for $20,000+++.

It's the <span style="text-decoration: underline">market</span> that determines value, not the number manufactured.

Actually, it's the baby boomer guys fulfilling their car fantasies (I'm included in this grim stat, BTW).

IMHO, I think Barrets prices are not realistic.

I recently sold my Moke on eBay for just over half that. One MiniMania member has an exquisitely restored Moke in Canada for $15k on eBay and it never sold.

So I won't use Barrets as a judge of market condition but make for a nice insurance values though.
